Movie Night!

Aah, it was that time again – a proper movie night!

On Friday we went on shopping and the store’s movie section just sucked me in. There were lots of great movies, new movies, old movies, movies, movies, movies and I was absolutely ecstatic. I went through the “new movies” shelves movie by movie and digging into a big box of older movies. I got five new movies all in Blu-ray – some movies I already had in DVD, but I’m planning on selling them away and get the Blu-ray versions of all of my movies! I usually don’t buy a new Blu-ray but wait for its price to come down but I had waited “Iron Man 3” since I saw it on the movie theater so I absolutely had to buy it now. And “The Phantom Of The Opera at the Royal Albert Hall” 25 years celebration version just brought up so many memories I had to claim it to myself.

My mom was going to a family meeting at her big brother’s house where there were her family, relatives, their friends and parents – my mom was excited but I wasn’t that much. So I decided not to go. I had nothing to talk to with these people – I’m bad at small talk, really. So I decided to have a movie night on my own – what a dream come true!

I struggled with preparing a microwave popcorn, for I have not done such a thing in years, I have used to use a pot and dried corn beads. Then my mom left and I was left to arrange my movie night. I took my time and savoured the moment. First I made the popcorn and put candy and drinks on the table. I had decided to watch “Ted” and “Iron Man 3”, saving the “Iron Man 3” for the last to enjoy it to the fullest.

Then I did the fresh tomato and mozzarella salad with fresh basil and left it to the fridge to become spiced while I started my first movie “Ted”.

I also had movie company:

I had seen “Ted” on the movie theater. I had to go and see it for there was Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane (the creator of “Family Guy” and “American Dad!”) as the voice of Ted and I thought the trailer was hilarious. The movie was hilarious also. I enjoyed it. When I watched it this time it was as hilarious but went by a bit slow – maybe my pauses had to do something about it. But in the end it was a funny movie and everyone who wants to forget the outside world for about 1 hour 45 minutes should watch this!

I had eaten the tomato and mozzarella salad during watching “Ted” and after the movie I made a noodle soup and used an hour to a various things. After it I started watching “Iron Man 3” which I had been waiting for four months to come out on Blu-ray and DVD. I had high hopes for I remembered how good this movie was and now I was going to see it again. I just sank to the sofa and started to watch it. And it was oh, so good as I had remembered!

I’m kind of still waiting that kiss between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts (Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow) every time I watch “Iron Man 3” but all we get is a cheek kiss! They had creatively combine the end credit clips from the previous movies as well as the new one – I like it. It was midnight when I was done watching the movies and my mom got back home.

I felt like watching “A Beautiful Mind” also but there was no time. It was at midnight when the “Iron Man 3” ended. And “A Beautiful Mind” is a quite long and heavy movie to watch after two funny and movies full of action. It’s a very good movie but for me it’s heavy to watch every time.

This movie night was so awesome! For a long time I hadn’t had time to arrange something like this - just to sit down with all of the beverages and watch movies. These two movies were just what I needed – humor and action. I will sure to arrange another movie night like this and having friends over next time, maybe…

p.s. My movie pal fell asleep during watching the movies:
