What a Weekend

I had had plans for this weekend! On Friday I saw my dad and we went for a ride and talked about everything. He stopped near one park and we went to see his boat place. We talked about everything important and not so important as we walked and enjoyed the warm day.

We then headed back home. I had packed my bag for the sleep over. As we got home I got my things on their places and switched on nicer clothes. We went to the balcony to talk about everything and my dad called to my brother. After that we continued talking and just enjoying the evening sun.

We heard that there was some band playing in the Hämeenpuisto, so we decided to go to listen to it. I changed my clothes and we left to Hämeenpuisto. There was a band playing on a stage but we only got to hear a few songs before they stopped. There was a small market place there also but all the stands were already closed. We walked through the market and back to home. My dad’s wife was away for a night out with her girlfriend so we had the whole night with each other and we got a chance to talk after a long time. We ate and after that we started to watch a movie “Braveheart” on the couch.

The movie was so long we got tired and we recorded the rest and went to bed. I still watched some TV before I turned over and started to sleep. I saw a lot of dreams but the night went well.

My dad’s wife had come while we were sleeping and they had gone to work while I was still sleeping. I woke up late and made breakfast while watching TV. When my dad and his wife got back we hang around and talked about everything. I then got my things ready and waited for the bus to go back to my mom’s. We said goodbye and I left. I went for a walk after I got home just to think about everything and to clear my mind. After I got back home we started to make food before the Eurovision contest we were about to watch with my mom.

We put on the grill and grilled everything from vegetables to soy wieners.

We then sat down and started to watch Eurovision Song contest while eating and drinking sparkling wine. We watched it until the end and the result was a surprise to be honest. But I think the right contestant won – she had a very good performance. After that we were awake for a while but then we slowly went to bed and I had had one of the most nicest weekends of my life...

Mother's Day

Today was Mother’s Day! Every day should be a Mother’s Day but this one day we all can remember our mothers the most and let them feel they are important. But every day should be that way. My mother is one of the most important persons to me in this whole crazy world and I like to show it to her often.

I had already bought her a present before this day and had got her a card which I gave to her. I woke up in the early morning to say happy Mother’s Day to her before neither of we would even getting up of bed.

Later that day we went eating outside not needing for my mom to be in the kitchen the whole evening. We put our make-up and fine clothes on and left at ahead of time.

I ordered two burritos (there were two burritos in one platter, but they weren’t that big after all even though they look like it) with spicy bean and pepper stew filling served with fresh salad and tomato-based salsa Méxicana.

After we had finished we strolled back to the car and headed back home where we popped up a bottle of pink sparkling wine and fresh strawberries. Later that evening we sat on the cough watched a movie “The Proposal”.

The movie was very funny and even we had seen it many times before it’s always something we can watch again. Overall I had a very good day and saw that my mother had a nice day too which was the whole point. Mother’s Day or no Mother’s Day I will continue showing her that she means a lot to me and how important she is to me.

“Iron Man 3” Review

So today I finally went to see Iron Man 3 in 3D and may I say that it was awesome! It was full of action and great scenes and got better and better by the end. The movie combines together two old comic books which the oldest one were published back in the 1960's. Tony finds himself unable to sleep and plagued by worry. The main nemesis is a terrorist leader The Mandarin (played by Ben Kingsley) who is responsible for several bombings around the city. They slowly destroys Tony's world and when he finds it destroyed and those closest to him threatened, he must find a way to save them. Along with Robert Downey Jr. also Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle redo their roles as Stark's girlfriend Pepper Potts and his best friend James Rhodes.

I would have thought that there was going to be a robotic nemesis against Iron Man Tony Stark this time like the previous movies but this time it was different - somehow even a little bit utopian for my taste anyway. The plot changes when Iron Man's second antagonist Aldrich Killian (played by Guy Pearce) created a team to further research and create the Extremis virus, which imparts unusual levels of strength and resiliency to human subjects. It is a nanotechnology virus which gets to the hands of terrorists. Against of these villains Tony needs to find out the question does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man but he needs to reinvent himself without the power of his suit.

The music was great and very powerful this time also and I always enjoy listening it through the movie experience. I would have needed more intimacy with Tony and Pepper Potts for Tony let her know that she is the only thing he needs to protect. I need kisses and hugs and everything. But no. Tony Stark is Tony Stark. What differs on this sequel in comparison to the second is that you should have seen the pervious movies or at least the first to see this movie to understand it all.

I don't really know was this the best Iron Man movie of the three so far but it was very funny, exciting and full of great action scenes. But it was also quite melancholy if I may say. I first was worried would there be a sequel referring to the end of the movie but at the end of the credits there read "Tony Stark will return" so that's pretty marvelous then. Also because Robert Downey Jr.'s contract with Marvel ends with Iron Man 3. Even The Avengers 2 most likely brings him back to the role of Tony Stark, Iron Man 3 was clearly an end of the series so far.

In conclusion I would see this movie again – definitely! And I believe that I might just will...

May Day!

May Day is known as Vappu in Finnish. We was supposed to go to downtown to a May Day market and to see the carnival-style street festivities in the centre but in the end we decided to spend a nice day at home. I know that on May Day, Koskenranta (a park near Tammerkoski river) is absolutely crowded with teens drinking and puking. People young and old - particularly students - party outside, goes to a picnic and wear caps or other decorative clothing in the city centre. I tried to gather up some friends but it didn't really happen. I was supposed to see my father also but he texted me that they had got other plans for the evening that day and asked to see me on the weekend. That was fine - but my plans got really thought over again.

But the day was quite nice; I slept late and we made food and drank sparkling wine and "sima" (a special lemonade from lemons, brown sugar, and yeast, which contains very little alcohol). We also made doughnuts which we fried in oil and rolled them up in sugar after that. In the evening I made potato salad and soy wieners which I fried on the pan - so the most basic and traditional May Day food ever! Cats were loving the paper confetti streamers the most. They didn't really understand over balloons though.

”Simaa”

Although we did went to downtown the May Day went very well. I can’t wait until next year!

Oh, and earlier this week I went to get a movie ticket to "Iron Man 3" in 3D and I also had a sudden urge to buy popcorn from a movie theater. I have been so excited about the movie!

Oh, and one more thing. May I present to you a glass table and a huge cat butt:
