I don’t know why, but Easter is one of the ”holidays” I wait the most! I
guess all the good childhood memories about egg hunting and eating candy until I
felt sick, comes into my head.
We planted some grass for our cats way before Easter – Tiny couldn’t
care less but Lara was crazy about it, even before it started to grow... Oh,
the joy when she finally got to it! This is just one way of showing how diverse
and different cats can be!
Like during all holidays and days alike, I like to bake and make food.
I baked vegan peach-quark buns – something I’ve had in mind for a long
time, but I had never baked before. And they turned out perfect! I couldn’t
have been happier!
For dinner I made my traditional Easter seitan roast with spicy
oven-roasted vegetables. The picture isn’t the best, but at least there’s a
picture...
I hope you have had a great Easter and you’ve eaten yourselves as full as I
have, ha!

Easter and Egg Hunts with Cats
Happy Easter everyone!
Easter got to be one of my favorite holidays! Though I’m not into much what it’s really celebrating, I love the free time, feathers and egg hunts with the cats...
First few days went just staying up late and sleeping late... But it was worth it; seeing the first rays of the sun is always priceless. Lara was also watching her territory from the bedroom window and I bet that she also enjoyed the rising sun.
I had thought what to make and bake for Easter quite a long time. I knew I wanted to make a seitan roast and spicy potato wedges along with orange sauce. I didn’t know at all would the orange sauce suit with the seitan but because it seemed a common thing to prepare duck for Easter with orange sauce (and my mom made it also) I thought it might be an exotic thing to try – and it was. My mom did also eat my seitan when it had came from the oven...
I also baked a vegan peach ”cheesecake” from scratch.
My dad had gave us a bottle of red wine which was some kind of “art wine” from 2009 named “Vinos De Arte”. He had gave it to us for last Christmas but we had been saving it until this Easter when we finally opened it. I used to drink more red wine but nowadays I rarely do and I’m kind of picky of what I will drink what comes to wines but this wine was very good! Not that I would have waited it to be bad in any way...
Today was the last day of Easter which was also a holiday out from work to those who work. Today was a lazy day and even I did not sleep that late, I didn’t really have anything special things to do... The food side went towards pizza (like it usually does when we are having a lazy day) – even I did have seitan left (but now it will last longer, hah!)
The rest of the evening has been going well and just relaxing, listening to music and watching the sun go down... I couldn’t have wished for more from this Easter.

Feathers and Eggs
Saturday was very nice. we slept late and ate late breakfast. Then we went out to shuffeling in a store and then we went to IKEA. We went through the whole place and then we ordered coffee. My mom had bought me a tomato and a cucumber plant for an Easter present. It was very nice. We got everything in the car and drank our coffees. Then we went to get willow branches for Easter. We got them and headed home. Cats were excited about the willow branches and sniffed them well.
We started to decorate the branches with feathers and glass eggs. The cats were more than willing to help. Especially the feathers were the main attraction.
We started to make food a little too late and we were done by the night. We made oven-roasted vegetables, garlic cream potatoes, seitan and creamy pepper sauce. We were supposed to do a peach pie but it was postponed to the next day.
Later that evening we watched the movie "Holiday" while making food and enjoyed some girl time with a good movie.
The eating went off a little bit late but the food was gooooooood and so worth waiting. The whole day had been so good I have not had such in a very long time - This must have been one of the best days of my life so far.
On Monday we slept late and enjoyed the free day still because of Easter. We were lazy and while we still had previous food left we got ourselves some Easter pizza (mine with the toppings of mushrooms, bell pepper, tomato and jalapeno).
We tried to do everything on Easter but our grass just wouldn't grow and even it was very attractive by the cats it still was not grown enough. But we’re going to wait until it’s grown so we can let the cats to eat it. Maybe next Easter we will plant it a bit more earlier...
This Easter was the best yet and I hope the next one will be at least as fun and enjoyable. Now I love Easter!
